Peer-to-peer (P2P) order disputes can arise for various reasons, often related to misunderstandings between the parties involved, differences in expectations, or non-fulfillment of a buyer or seller’s obligations.
As mentioned in the P2P Terms of User Service, the nature of P2P requires you to take risks with your counterparty. In case of dispute, Bybit may provide a mediation solution in goodwill without guaranteeing a resolution in your favor.
P2P Order Appeal
The P2P Order Appeal feature is available to all P2P traders, both buyers, and sellers, and offers them direct access to settle a dispute with their counterparty. Indeed, in P2P trading, where traders directly engage with each other, conflicts can arise easily due to differing expectations. If both traders are not reaching an agreement after communicating via the P2P Order Chat box, one user can click on Order dispute? to start a P2P appeal to solve the issue with the help of Bybit P2P Appeal Specialists. This feature is supported for all ongoing orders as well as orders canceled or completed within five (5) calendar days after order creation.
How Does P2P Order Appeal Work?
Once an appeal is submitted, a P2P Appeal Specialist will join your P2P order chat box to assist you with the first step of your query. Our specialists will then liaise with both parties separately to determine the next course of action and reach a settlement accordingly. This process will usually take up to 48 hours based on each party’s reactivity and the type of issue raised. However, it may be extended if more information is required or if the counterparty responds slowly.

P2P Fast Track Appeal
Fast-Track Appeal is a function on Bybit’s P2P (Peer-to-Peer) Trading, designed to provide users with a streamlined and efficient process for resolving disputes. Contrary to the normal track process, the fast track appeal aims to address issues swiftly and find a suitable solution for both users without the intervention of Bybit P2P Appeal Specialists. Please note that the fast track option is only supported for normal P2P orders trading USDT and with the following issues:
-
Buyer: I've completed my payment but the counterparty hasn't released the coins yet.
-
Seller: I haven't received any payments from the counterparty.
How Does Fast-Track Appeal Work?
When submitting an appeal through the Fast-Track option, a judgment will be made within 15 minutes, and the P2P Appeal Specialist will not participate in the Order Chat Box. Following the completion of the judgment, the order amount will be temporarily frozen for 4, 8, 12 or 24 hours to allow the counterparty to confirm the result. The frozen duration will vary depending on the strategies. Please refer to the interface for the specific frozen duration.
-
If no dissent is raised during the frozen period, the frozen assets will be automatically released back to your account.
-
If the counterparty raises a dissent within the frozen period, our P2P Appeal Specialist will intervene in the Order Chat Box to reevaluate the disputed issue. Throughout the dissent period, the order amount remains frozen until the dissent is resolved. Cooperation with verifications and timely responses within the given timeframe in the P2P Order Chat Box is required. If no valid proof is provided in your favor, the platform reserves the right to transfer the coin back to the counterparty.
The overall flow is as follows:
Note: Under certain circumstances, appeals will be managed through a method different from the process of handling them via the P2P Appeal Specialist through the Order Chat Box.
